As a Shelter Custodian at VNFC, your role will ensure a clean and functional space for our community. This vital position includes a variety of custodial and maintenance responsibilities.
Working closely with the VNFC Custodial Team, you will report to the Shelter and Building Services Managers. This role requires cleaning, maintenance, and a commitment to maintain safety and health standards in the shelter workplace. Additionally, familiarity with Indigenous cultures is essential to provide an inclusive space for clients and staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and disinfect shelter surfaces and washrooms
• Launder bedding and upkeep linens
• Execute grounds maintenance duties diligently
• Manage snow clearance and protected entryways
• Handle waste removal and recycling initiatives
Requirements:
• Completion of high school or comparable education
• At least 3 years in custodial services
• Current WHMIS and First Aid certifications
• Preference for Indigenous community work experience
• Ability to carry out physically challenging tasks
