Your new role
Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the Senior Estimator will play a key role within an established estimating team, supporting the pursuit and delivery of complex construction opportunities across the institutional, commercial, and industrial sectors.
You will be responsible for preparing detailed conceptual and tender estimates, performing quantity take-offs, reviewing drawings and specifications, soliciting subcontractor and supplier pricing, and developing competitive bid strategies. Working closely with operations, pre-construction, project management, and business development teams, you will provide accurate cost analysis and budgeting throughout the pre-construction process.
The successful candidate will evaluate design documents, identify scope gaps and opportunities, manage tender closings, assess project risk, and contribute to value engineering initiatives. You will also support subcontractor procurement, pricing reviews, bid levelling, and project handover activities while helping maintain strong relationships with consultants, owners, and trade partners.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will bring 8–10 years of estimating experience within the construction industry, ideally gained with a larger general contractor.
Experience pricing institutional, commercial, and industrial projects is highly desirable.
You will possess strong knowledge of construction methodologies, procurement, tendering, budgeting, contract administration, scheduling, and cost control. A demonstrated ability to prepare detailed estimates, assess project risks, review subcontractor pricing, and manage multiple tenders simultaneously is essential.
Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are required, along with a collaborative approach and attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Office applications is expected, while proficiency with Procore, BIM platforms, Microsoft Project, and related construction technologies will be considered an asset. Knowledge of CCDC contract structures and industry best practices is highly advantageous.
What you'll get in return
In return, you'll receive a competitive salary in the range along with a comprehensive perks package and opportunities for continued professional development.
The position follows a hybrid work model, with employees expected to be in the office three days per week and working remotely for the remainder. Occasional site visits may be required. However, travel is infrequent, and all business-related expenses are reimbursed. You will join an established estimating team, providing excellent mentorship, collaboration, and long-term growth opportunities.
