Rate of Pay: At Starling Community Services all salaries are categorized under a series of "bands" determined during our job evaluation process. When determining rate of pay for external hires, a candidate’s past related experience will be taken into consideration along with where others with similar experience currently fall within the band.Note: most new team members will start between the starting salary and the mid-point of the range.

Two casual Housekeeper, Luther Village on the Park positions available, starting on September 27, 2026, working various hours per week.

* Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, stat holidays for any of the different shifts (days, evenings and overnights).

Your Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Performs indoor housekeeping duties in common areas of the building and resident suites.


• Maintains a clean, sanitized, safe and attractive workplace in order to enhance the health and lives of residents at Luther Village on the Park.


• Rotational responsibility to carry the 24/9 on-call phone requiring timely response to unexpected incoming requests for support throughout the shift and building.


• Responds to maintenance related calls to resident suites or common areas.


• Acts as the lead in charge when the fire alarm is activated in the Atrium building.


• Monitors the building throughout the evening/overnight to ensure doors are closed and locked.


• Various tasks and responsibilities throughout different shifts, including cleaning resident’s suites, doing laundry.


• Supports visitors with after-hour entry to secure areas of the building.


• Works intentionally from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive perspective to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.

Your Talents and Experience:

• Must have a minimum of a Grade 10 education or equivalent and 3 years of transferable work experience.


• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and seniors and maintain a commitment to providing exemplary customer service.


• Time management skills, including prioritization and multi-tasking,
  
  
  
  are essential and must have an ability to balance completion of daily task list with on-call requests for support throughout the building.


• Must be able to work both autonomously as well as part of a multi-service delivery team.


• Comfort in working under pressure and in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to adapt to change is essential.


• Basic computer and electronic documentation skills required.


• Capable of safely lifting cleaning equipment and supplies from floor level and performing repetitious tasks.


• Demonstrates compassion and empathy to the changing needs of seniors and their families and takes initiative to ensure a clean, protected, and welcoming home for the residents and guests of Luther Village on the Park.
