About the Role

Our client, a highly acclaimed fine-dining establishment in Kimberley , is seeking an accomplished Senior Sommelier and Wine Educator to curate their exceptional wine program and enhance the guest experience. You will be responsible for selecting, purchasing, and managing the wine cellar, advising patrons on wine pairings, and conducting staff training on wine knowledge and service standards. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of global wines, excellent palate, and solid leadership skills to maintain the restaurant's reputation for outstanding culinary and beverage offerings, working within a sophisticated and dedicated hospitality team.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, manage, and update the restaurant's comprehensive wine list, focusing on quality, variety, and value.
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairing suggestions to guests during service.
- Manage wine inventory, including stock levels, ordering, receiving, and cellar organization.
- Conduct regular wine training sessions for front-of-house staff to enhance their knowledge and service skills.
- Host wine tasting events and educational dinners for guests and staff.




- Ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations and responsible serving practices.

Requirements

- Advanced certification from a recognized wine institution (e.g., WSET Level 3 or 4, CMS Advanced Sommelier).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Sommelier in a high-volume, fine-dining setting.
- Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, grape varietals, vintages, and food pairing principles.
- Exceptional palate, sensory evaluation skills, and cellar management expertise.
- Strong leadership, communication, and training abilities.
- Experience with beverage inventory management systems.
