About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and vigilant Senior Network Operations Specialist to oversee the day-to-day functioning of their critical telecommunications network in Kimberley . This role is integral to maintaining network stability, performance, and security, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to their customer base. You will be responsible for monitoring network traffic, responding to incidents, and implementing proactive measures to prevent disruptions. This position offers a chance to work with sophisticated network management tools and contribute to the operational excellence of a leading telecommunications provider in the Northern Cape. Key Responsibilities

Monitor network performance and availability 24/7, using advanced network management systems. Respond promptly to network incidents and alerts, performing initial diagnostics and coordinating resolution efforts. Implement network changes, configuration updates, and software patches according to established procedures. Collaborate with engineering and support teams to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement permanent fixes. Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, runbooks, and incident reports.



Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support for critical network events. Mentor junior operations staff and assist in their technical development within the Kimberley N.O.C. Requirements

Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role within the telecoms industry. Robust understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and firewall management. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix) and ticketing systems. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a systematic approach to problem-solving. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment. Benefits
