Job Summary

The Education Assistants will be working under the supervision of the Resource teacher and the Principal of Peepeekisis Pesakastew School and will be responsible for:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to students with Special Needs within the classroom and/or pullout situations;
  • Providing support to classroom teachers when needed;
  • Working with the Resource teachers to provide support to students according to the students individual Education Plan;
  • Scheduled Supervision of students at recess and during noon lunch;
  • Supervision of students on school outings;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 and /or Equivalent
  • Early Childhood Certificate is preferred but not necessary
  • Physically fit, able to do some heavy lifting
  • CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of the team
  • First Aid and CPR
