Summary

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures;
• Install, align,
  
  
  
  dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment;
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices;
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment;
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts;
• Operate power tools, pipe threaders, hand tools etc;
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance;
• Assemble machinery and equipment;
• Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures;
• Recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate current equipment;
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs;
• Building systems maintenance;
• Maintain work area in a neat condition;
• Monitor subcontractor work;
• Provide written reports;
• Analyze equipment breakdowns and propose corrective solutions;
• Follow safety and company policies;
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in Canada;
• Ability to pass background checks and security screenings;
• Five (5)
  
  
  
  years of experience in an industrial environment;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Motivated self-starter;
• Physically capable of carrying out all aspects of tasks;
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience;
• Planning and organizing skills;
• Excellent verbal and written communication;
• French language considered an asset;
• Ability to work in adverse conditions including extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights.
