Follow the link for details: Hospital Services – St. Thomas Elgin General HospitalWhat you must haveRegistered Practical Nurse, currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioRegistered Practical Nurse certificate or education and experience that allows the RPN to practice at full scopeCurrent BLS CertificationProven assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills related to acute medical nursing with the ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking skillsetBasic computer skills (Outlook email, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record)Capability to administer medication inclusive of IV medication administration, with a physician’s orderAbility to assess,
adapt and respond within a constantly changing environmentDemonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional developmentExcellent attendance record in alignment with STEGH’s attendance policyAcceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s mission, vision, values and code of conductWhat we prefer you haveMaternal/ new‑born/ pediatric nursing experience within the last three (3) yearsPreference will be given to the candidate who has experience working in the Women & Children's DepartmentHoursThe successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department in accordance with the availability and non‑availability requirements outlined in the OPSEU Service Collective Agreement.
