Property Management Assistant – Clerical (Part-time) The Woodstock Police Service is accepting applications from internal and external applicantsfor one (1) vacancy of Property Management Assistant – Clerical.This position requires positive interpersonal and verbal communication skills along with strongorganizational abilities. The role of the Property Management Assistant is to assist in themaintenance, storage and release of all found or seized property as it relates to a variety ofpolice occurrences. Previous experience working in a police or legal environment would beconsidered an asset in addition to knowledge of Niche RMS. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure the security and continuity of all property storage areas at Woodstock PoliceService Follow policy and procedure as it relates to barcoding, scanning and organization intoRMS occurrences. Prepare property for auction or disposal under legislative and department policy. Return property to owners following complete investigations or court proceedings. Working Conditions: Duties are performed within areas and around items that may expose the employee todirty and/or unsanitary environments, strong odours and potential exposure toinfectious diseases when working with weapons, controlled substances orcontaminated items. Proper protective equipment and training is provided. Physical Demands: Assignments will include activities such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting objectsgreater than 20lbs, twisting, reading and writing.
Qualifications: Minimum Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant work experience that would include ademonstrated ability to maintain organizational procedures and confidentiality Basic knowledge of NICHE / Records Management System (RMS) and courtproceedings Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficient data entry and keyboarding skills with a minimum 30 wpm Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and multi-task Must be flexible in altering hours to meet the needs of the organization Wages and Benefits: The part-time position may include scheduling up to a maximum of 28 hours/week Pay in lieu of benefits and vacation Enrollment into a well-established pension plan Provided with issued uniform and safety equipment The rate of pay will be in keeping with the current Civilian Collective Agreement, ranging from $33.26 hourly (probationary) to $39.58 hourly.
