About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Risk to play a pivotal role in advancing the life and health insurance industry's interests on risk-related matters. The successful candidate will be a cooperative and highly credible risk leader with a solid background in the life and health insurance sector or a related financial services or regulatory environment. Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of strategies for enterprise risk management, operational risk, emerging risks, and regulatory developments. The AVP will serve as a primary point of contact for risk-related engagement with regulators and industry partners, and will provide leadership to key committees and working groups that shape industry positions and responses.



The role demands a leader with solid technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to foster alignment across a diverse membership.

The ideal candidate will have a consultative, thoughtful, and solutions-oriented leadership style, and will be adept at building consensus, navigating competing interests, and influencing outcomes. Emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to operate in a highly collaborative environment and balance diverse member perspectives to advance common objectives. The AVP will be expected to have a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, be comfortable operating in ambiguity, and demonstrate a commitment to accountability, transparency, and respect for differing viewpoints. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex issues into clear advice and practical action are also key attributes for this role.
