Full Time - Hourly - Vac Paid Factory Labor Chemainus, BC, CA 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1051 Salary Range: $22.00 To $30.00 Hourly A Production/Manufacturing Wood Framer will be responsible for the production and assembly of prefabricated wood framing components in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in wood framing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position. Roles and Responsibilities: Assemble Prefabricated Components: Build prefabricated wood framing components (such as walls, floors, and roof sections) in a controlled factory environment according to design specifications. Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accurate assembly. Operate Machinery: Use automated and manual machinery, such as saws, nail guns, and presses, to cut, shape, and assemble wood components. Quality Assurance: Inspect assembled components for defects or inconsistencies, ensuring all pieces meet production and quality standards. Follow Production Schedules: Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining precision and attention to detail. Material Handling: Measure, cut, and handle wood materials efficiently to minimize waste during the assembly process. Maintain Equipment and Workspace: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, machinery, and workstations to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with production team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to maintain workflow and resolve issues. Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and protected operation of machinery. Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve: Address and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure seamless production. Qualifications: Experience: 1-3 years of experience in wood framing, carpentry, or prefabricated construction, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and automated machinery used in wood framing or manufacturing. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to quality and precision during the assembly process. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and operating machinery. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to challenges in a fast-paced production environment. Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
