We are seeking a Mid-level Mechanical Engineer who is willing to become part of a team responsible for developing, testing and documenting new lab automation machines. You must do things thoroughly and in a logical, orderly manner. Creativity and attention to detail are necessary for success in this position. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a team environment, self-motivated and have a positive understanding of new product development.Responsibilities:Work with the engineering team to design and develop new lab automation machines (liquid handling workstation, qPCR, orbital shaker, thermoelectric cooler, etc.).Research and generate conceptual design.Evaluate the different concepts to select a good one.Detail your chosen design down to 3D model of mechanical components and assemblies.Analyze, calculate and simulate your design to be confident it will work.Create 2D engineering drawings (with GD&T and BOMs) for manufacturing.Coordinate and assist with parts machining and purchasing.Must be hands-on; assemble, troubleshoot,debug, and qualify subsystems and components.
