The Payroll Project Manager is responsible for overall planning, governance, stakeholder management, quality assurance, delivery management, risk management, and successful completion of the payroll assessment and transformation engagement. This role coordinates Aliant Technologies consulting team and ensures compliance with confidentiality, privacy, documentation, validation, and reporting requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project work plan.
- Create project schedules and milestones.
- Manage deliverables timeline.
- Coordinate resources.
- Manage project governance meetings.
- Track project status and dependencies.
- Act as primary client contact.
- Coordinate interviews and workshops.
- Facilitate validation sessions.
- Escalate risks and issues.
- Manage decision logs and approvals.
- Review all deliverables.
- Ensure traceability across documentation.
- Validate evidence quality.
- Ensure documentation consistency.
- Ensure alignment with project scope.
- Maintain RAID log.
- Track assumptions.
- Monitor unresolved issues.
- Escalate delivery risks.
- Manage mitigation plans.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, Accounting, or Project Management.
- PMP certification preferred.
- PCP/CPM designation is considered an asset.
- 10+ years managing payroll or HR transformation projects.
- Experience with Canadian payroll implementations or assessments.
- Experience in the Ontario public sector or broader public sector consulting preferred.
- Experience managing cross-functional consulting teams.
