Senior Business Systems Analyst – Mainframe

Rate: $50–$60/hr

Contract: 12 months

Location: Toronto, ON – 160 Front Street West

Work Model: Hybrid – 4 days onsite

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support technology initiatives within a mainframe environment. The role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into system specifications and support initiatives through the full SDLC.

Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
Create business requirements, process flows, use cases, user stories and system specifications.
Facilitate requirements gathering, brainstorming and user story refinement sessions.
Analyze AS-IS and TO-BE business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Translate business requirements into technical/system requirements.
Work closely with development and technology teams within a mainframe environment.
Manage requirements and initiatives through the full lifecycle from inception through deployment.
Support testing, implementation and validation of delivered solutions.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.




Support multiple Agile pods and concurrent initiatives.

Must-Have Requirements
5–7+ years of Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst experience.
Robust knowledge of Credit Cards and TSYS
Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
5–7 years of Agile experience, including hands-on use of Jira and Confluence.
Strong requirements elicitation, documentation and stakeholder management experience.
Experience creating user stories, process flows and functional/system requirements.
Robust communication skills and ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.

Nice to Have
Banking/financial services experience; previous experience within a major Canadian bank preferred.
Experience working within mainframe settings, including exposure to technologies such as COBOL, IMS and DB2.
SQL experience.
Data analytics or Business Intelligence experience.
Agile certifications.
Experience working within SAFe Agile environments.
