Municipal District of Bonnyville invites applicants for the position ofFreestyle Ski Coach (Seasonal) in theCommunity Services Department . Function: The Freestyle Ski Coach is responsible for delivering safe, professional, and engaging freestyle ski coaching programs at Kinosoo Ridge Resort. This position supports athlete development through structured coaching, progressive skill development, and positive mentorship, while fostering an inclusive, supportive, and encouraging training environment. The Freestyle Ski Coach works with participants of varying ages and skill levels to develop fundamental and advanced freestyle skiing abilities, including terrain park awareness, jumps, rails, grabs, spins, and safe progression through freestyle features. This position is responsible for applying recognized freestyle coaching standards and ensuring all programs are delivered in a safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate manner. Duties & Responsibilities: Deliver structured freestyle ski coaching sessions focused on athlete development, skill progression, safety, and participant enjoyment. Coach athletes in freestyle skiing techniques, including terrain park skills, jumps, rails, grabs, spins, and other freestyle movements. Develop and deliver training plans and sessions appropriate for athlete age, ability, and development level.



Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to support technical improvement and confidence. Teach safe progression through freestyle features while promoting proper technique, risk management, and terrain awareness. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive coaching environment for all athletes. Follow coaching standards, safety practices, and development pathways established through Alberta Freestyle and/or Canada Freestyle. Participate in coach training, certification requirements, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development. Assist with freestyle camps, clinics, competitions, and special events while communicating effectively with athletes, parents/guardians, and resort staff. Maintain accurate program records, support safe program operations, and perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required. Must be certified or actively trained throughAlberta Freestyle and/orCanada Freestyle coaching programs. Previous freestyle skiing experience, coaching experience, or competitive freestyle background considered an asset. Robust understanding of freestyle skiing techniques, athlete progression, and terrain park safety. Ability to demonstrate advanced skiing ability and safely coach freestyle skills. Experience working with youth athletes and developing skiers considered an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide positive mentorship and constructive feedback. Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a coaching team. Strong commitment to athlete safety, development, and guest experience. First Aid certification considered an asset. Must have a flexible schedule with the availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid class 5 driver’s license considered an asset. Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check with satisfactory results. Working Conditions: Work hours may vary with customer demand. Primarily work outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions. High customer volume and fast paced environment. Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and pull up to 75 lbs.
