Oxford Learning Caledonia is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to support students in Grades 9‑12 science and math. This full‑time teaching role focuses on interactive coaching in a formal learning centre. The position is open for part‑time hours, Monday‑Thursday evenings, and some Saturdays.
Position Requirements
Teacher‑tutors must be available during the following hours:
Monday to Thursday: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (1‑3 hours per shift)
Saturday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (1‑3 hours per shift)
Applicants must reside in or be within a short commute of Caledonia, ON. All appointments are in‑person, and a reliable presence is required. Vulnerable‑sector screening is mandatory.
Education
Post‑secondary student (current) or bachelor’s degree, diploma, or similar certification in a relevant field
Third and fourth‑year college or university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at the Grade 9‑12 level
Strong written and oral English communication skills
Solid math skills and the ability to guide students’ understandingAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
Teach up to three students simultaneously at different skill levels
Deliver in‑person instruction following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times
