Make a difference in the lives of families at Wood's Homes as a Youth and Family Counsellor. This role involves hands-on care and support for children, offering critical interventions within a structured environment. Wood's Homes, a not-for-profit mental health centre based in Calgary, seeks a Youth and Family Counsellor on a rotational shift schedule. You will engage directly with children and families, managing cases with a focus on healing and well-being. Your work will include developing routines, goal setting, and providing essential life skills training within a collaborative team atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead therapeutic interventions for youth and families
- Create a structured living setting for therapeutic support
- Teach daily life skills and personal hygiene practices
- Develop individual care plans in collaboration with the team
- Manage crisis situations using non-abusive restraint techniques Requirements:
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Diploma or degree in relevant fields with 2-4 years experience
