As a recognized non-profit medical organization, COS is dedicated to improving eye care for all Canadians by setting high standards for continuous medical education, promoting research, and supporting ophthalmologists throughout their skilled journeys.

Position Overview

COS is seeking an experienced, highly organized Project Manager with exceptional medical writing and editing skills to lead a major, multi-year ergonomics and injury prevention initiative. This high-profile campaign is designed to improve the physical well-being of ophthalmologists through a variety of educational and digital channels.

The successful candidate will oversee a diverse suite of deliverables, including newsletter articles, a residency curriculum, continuing medical education (CME) materials, an ergonomics handbook and accompanying slide decks, social media challenges, webinars, and personal journey videos.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Oversight: Manage and track all project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across the multi-faceted initiative to ensure on-time delivery.
- Working Group Leadership: Lead and coordinate a dedicated working group of over 25 resident and practicing ophthalmologists,



facilitating collaboration and progress.
- Content Development and Support: Provide hands-on writing, editing, proofreading, and content development support to busy volunteer physicians.
- Brand and Message Consistency: Ensure a cohesive voice, accurate medical messaging, and consistent alignment across all multimedia and educational platforms.
- Strategic Collaboration: Support COS staff with project reporting, strategic planning, and administrative milestones as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: Proven experience in project management, ideally within a healthcare, medical association, or non-profit environment.
- Communication: Exceptional medical writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills. A portfolio of sample work will be required during the interview process.
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding relationship-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate busy, volunteer medical professionals.
- Organization: Superior organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
- Availability: Flexibility to attend occasional evening meetings to accommodate committee members across multiple Canadian time zones.
- Language: Bilingualism (English and French) is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
