Logistics Specialist – Freight Pricing & Operations

The Opportunity

Our client, a growing transportation and logistics organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support freight pricing and operations across Canada and the U.S.

This role will focus on freight quoting, carrier sourcing, pricing, and shipment coordination , with an emphasis on providing competitive transportation solutions and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare competitive LTL, FTL, and specialized freight quotes based on shipment requirements and market conditions.
- Source carriers, negotiate rates, and determine the best transportation solution for each shipment.
- Review shipment details including lanes, weight, dimensions, commodity, equipment, and special requirements.
- Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and execution.
- Maintain accurate quote, pricing, and shipment information within company systems.
- Monitor market rates and carrier capacity to identify competitive pricing opportunities.




- Support Canada–U.S. cross-border shipments and related transportation documentation.
- Provide responsive customer service and follow up on outstanding quotes.

Qualifications

- 1–3 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, dispatch, or freight pricing preferred.
- Solid understanding of LTL, FTL, truckload, and transportation equipment .
- Comfortable calculating freight costs and comparing carrier rates.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with TMS or freight-rating software is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canada–U.S. cross-border transportation is an asset.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organized, and able to quickly assess shipment requirements to determine the right carrier, equipment, and price .
