Help shape the educational experiences of Indigenous students as an Indigenous Student Support Worker at Baldonnel Elementary. This role involves working closely with teachers to meet both educational and cultural needs in a supportive workplace.
As an Indigenous Support Worker, you will provide assistance in fostering the academic success of Indigenous students through collaboration with educators and the Indigenous Education Centre. Your responsibilities include maintaining documentation, supporting student development, and facilitating culturally relevant activities.
You will also monitor student engagement and communicate effectively with families and the Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and manage student identification forms
Create inclusive support schedules with school officials
Ensure comprehensive student records are maintained
Provide in-class educational assistance to Indigenous students
Organize cultural experiences that enrich student learning
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent education
Recent experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
Reliable access to transportation
Solid communication and team skills
Proven knowledge of Indigenous culture is essential
