The Opportunity:
SaskBuilds and Procurement: Where infrastructure, procurement, real property, facility management, logistics, and information technology come together to support the Government of Saskatchewan's Growth Plan and deliver essential programs and services to citizens and communities.
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Property Management, is seeking a Building Operator to support operations in Government of Saskatchewan buildings located in Regina.
As a key member of a service-oriented team, you will ensure customer comfort and safety by maintaining a secure, well-functioning environment for Property Management clients and building occupants.
Your responsibilities will include responding to client inquiries; ensuring all facilities and equipment remain protected and fully operational; and performing routine maintenance of grounds equipment (e.g., bobcat, skid steer, gator). You will also carry out custodial duties, snow removal, landscaping, and minor maintenance tasks, as well as operate and maintain both manual and heavy-duty cleaning equipment. Additional responsibilities include climbing ladders, lifting and carrying heavy objects, completing security procedures, maintaining inventory and supplies,
and ensuring facilities meet operational and safety standards. You will also supervise and ensure the safety of Property Management staff working within the building and grounds.
To succeed in this role, you must have supervisory experience, the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. You must be in good physical condition in order to perform a variety of manual activities. The successful candidate will be required to climb ladders and lift heavy objects, perform building and grounds maintenance, and safely operate manual and powered equipment.
Candidates must possess a valid 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate, supported by practical experience. Candidates must also possess a valid 5th class or higher driver's license.
You will possess comprehensive knowledge of building heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; DDC control systems; cleaning techniques and procedures; WHMIS; and have strong interpersonal and public relations skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Archibus, GEM, and other computer applications is required.
