Scientific American seeks an Associate Video Producer to creatively shape scientific journalism through video. This role balances work from home with occasional on-site shoots in Toronto.
As part of the video team, you'll collaborate with journalists to create transparent, impactful visual stories. Your duties will include everything from planning shoots to editing the final product, contributing to formats like social media clips and in-depth documentaries.
You'll also stay updated on video trends to ensure relevance in content strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in video planning, shooting, and editing
Translate science stories into engaging visuals
Oversee logistics for video shoots
Edit content and organize footage archives
Support live interviews and remote productions
Requirements:
1–3 years of video production experience
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
Solid visual storytelling skills
Exceptional organizational capability
Bachelor's degree in film, communications, or similar field
