Work with Seabird Island as a Recovery Home Support Worker, helping to create a protected and inclusive environment for Indigenous clients. Focus on crisis intervention and support while enhancing community involvement and trust.
This term position operates from Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, providing essential support to clients affected by mental illness and addictions. You will promote activities of daily living while implementing coping strategies and engaging in community service connections. Successful candidates will be passionate about supporting individuals in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis intervention support and supervision • Uphold professional conduct and community standards • Document client progress in computerized systems • Encourage personal responsibilities and social interactions • Organize recreational and social activities with clients
Requirements: • At least 2 years of experience in Indigenous-focused roles • Relevant formal training in social services or health care • Food Safe Level 1 required • Certified in First Aid and Mental Health First Aid • Valid driver's license to facilitate client transportation
