Course Number-Section and Title: EDPI 341 716 Instruction in Inclusive Schools

Course Description: Developing, planning, implementing and evaluating effective learning programs for diverse learners, and consideration of their more general applicability. Adapting curriculum and instruction for learners with varying abilities, learning styles, and needs. Collaboration with students, families, and other educators (or stakeholders) in the instructional process. Application of adaptations at the classroom and school level for all students in inclusive schools.

Posting Dates: September 4 - 17, 2026 Application Deadline: September 17, 2026; 11:59 p.m. CL Credits: 3 (This course is not team-taught) Number of Positions Available: 1 Term: Fall 2026 Course Dates: October 19 - 30, 2026 Contract dates: October 5 - November 13, 2026 Schedule: Monday - Friday, October 19 - 29, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.; October 30, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Location: Kuujjuaq Travel, taxi/mileage, accommodation, and per diems are covered by the Office for instructors who require it.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

Education Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Learning Sciences, Human Development, or equivalent. In exceptional circumstances, applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or qualified experience related to the course content may be considered.

Experience Knowledge of educational and psychological theories. Knowledge of the application of educational and psychological theories to authentic settings. Experience in college/university teaching in this subject or professional experience in teaching K-12.



Knowledge of Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MELS) requirements.

OFNIE Additional Requirements

Knowledge of the concepts of Inclusive Education. Training and experience working in schools with students with diverse needs. Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description. Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partnering school board with whom this course is being delivered. Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation. Knowledge of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and a demonstrated ability to integrate pedagogical approaches grounded in equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous perspectives. Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school system for which the course is being delivered. Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system. Previous successful experience teaching similar courses to pre-service teachers. Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities. Experience developing curriculum, instructional approaches, and/or policy grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies. Demonstrated capacity and willingness to adapt course content to the educational, social, cultural, and linguistic context of the community in which the course is being delivered.



Availability to participate in course coordination and planning activities prior to the course start date (approximately two weeks in advance, online).

Effective dates of the appointment are October 5 - November 13, 2026. Course dates are October 19 - 30, 2026. This course will be offered in person in Kuujjuaq following the schedule above.
