What Youll Be Doing: Perform qualification and regulatory compliance testing for next generation optical switching products.

Perform qualification of electrical and optical sub-components.

Collect then analyze data and compare results with vendor submitted data.

Analyze and characterize failures.

Collect and analyze test, vendor, and field data.

Calculate reliability statistics (FIT, MTBF, etc.).

Prepare reports.

Learn how electro-optical products are tested and how/why they fail.

What Were Looking For Education: 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.

You must be registered full-time or part time, in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.

Skills:



Understanding of optical systems and optical instruments; Understanding of electrical and optical measurements; Understanding of Statistics; Previous experience working with databases, processing large sets of data, and summarizing using AI Tools; Previous experience with Python, Visual Basic, or other scripting language would be considered an asset; The ability to scrutinize and interpret data in order to provide meaningful conclusions; Strong communication skills; Ability to operate effectively in highly technical and multi project environment.
