Our client, a growing project-based organization in Cambridge, is seeking a Director of Finance to join their senior leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the finance function, driving process improvements, enhancing ERP utilization, and providing strategic financial support to business operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing month-end reporting, ERP system capabilities, strengthening financial controls, and partnering with operational leaders to improve profitability and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through account reconciliations, analytical reviews, and financial controls.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting functions.

Coordinate year-end audit activities and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

Process Improvement & Systems Optimization Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational processes.

Optimize ERP workflows, automation,



and reporting capabilities to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Partner with operational stakeholders to enhance project costing, revenue recognition, and transaction processing workflows.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures and accountability measures to support an effective month-end close process.

Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, translating operational plans into meaningful financial models.

Analyze financial performance and provide insights into key variances, trends, and business drivers.

Develop KPI dashboards and management reporting tools to improve operational visibility and profitability analysis.

Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making and improve working capital management.

Treasury & Internal Controls Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and delegated authority processes.

Oversee cash flow management and working capital planning.

Support relationships with financial institutions and ensure compliance with lending and reporting requirements.

Assist with risk management and financial governance initiatives.
