Cleanersperform a significant role by maintaining a clean, safe, functional andpleasant environment for clients and guests. As front-line members of theCare Team, their involvement can enhance the daily living of our residentsthrough integration of social aspects into their assignment. Key Accountabilities

Maintain aneat and tidy supply cart, janitor room. Follow acurrent work description for scheduled assignment. Recommendimproved work routines, procedures etc. Participatein Neighbourhood and Departmental meetings and activities. Participatein educational opportunities. Observe goodinfection control and occupational health and safety practice including fireregulations. Clean anddisinfect surfaces according to priority cleaning schedule. Dust/wet mopfloor areas. Dustfixtures and furniture. Clean carts,mirrors, lights, doors, foot stools etc. Stocksupplies on carts. Refilldispenser with supplies. Wheelchaircleaning as scheduled. Followprocedures for segregating, handling, collection, packaging and disposal ofwaste materials. Removesoiled cubicle or bedside curtains and wash in Laundry room. Replacecurtain hooks as needed. Washceilings, walls etc. using wall washer. Set upspecial precaution rooms as requested. Performdaily and terminal cleaning procedures for specific precautions as outlinedin Housekeeping Infection Control binder (in each mop room) take out. Wearprotective clothing as directed. Furnituremovement less than 25 lbs. Observesafety measures when lifting/pushing/pulling etc. Ensure spraybottles etc. are appropriately labelled take out spray. Assesssupply needs and fill out order form weekly. Remaincurrent with WHMIS program. Ensure allcleaning supplies are locked in cabinet space on cart when not in use. Maintaingood equipment function with regular cleaning. Performsminor preventive maintenance e.g. Replace filters etc.



Take out Documentsmaintenance requisitions and takes equipment to maintenance for more involvedrepairs take out. Ensuresequipment is not accessible to resident when not in use. Qualifications & Experience

Secondary SchoolGraduation Diploma. Previous cleaningexperience preferred. Accountable for cleaningof assigned areas maintaining Q.A. standard in these areas. Versatile in ability toorganize daily work schedule. Ability to workindependently. Ability to operate relatedequipment. Ability to communicateeffectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal withothers as a part of an interdisciplinary team. Physical ability to carryout the duties of the position.
