The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for Transit Bus Operators to fill six (6) permanent part-time positions. Under the general direction of the Senior Operations Supervisor – Conventional Bus, the Transit Bus Operator operates public transit vehicles on prescribed and other routing, ensuring schedule adherence and the comfort and safety of passengers. Carry out driving duties in accordance with highway traffic act regulations and the Transit Bus Policy Manual as it relates to driver responsibilities and passenger assistance. Top Key Responsibilities: Safe and Effective Transit Vehicle Operation - Operate public transit vehicles on assigned routes and schedules. Provide multiple types of service, including fixed route, charter, school specials, overloads, and any other required vehicle movements. Prioritize passenger comfort, safety, and adherence to transit schedules. Passenger Monitoring & Safety - Observe passenger behavior to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all riders. Report incidents and request supervisor assistance when needed. Submit clear incident information for follow-up and documentation. Fare Collection & Customer Interaction - Oversee fare
