As BURNCO’s Director of Marketing & Communications, you will work closely with the business to strengthen the company’s brand, reputation and stakeholder trust across North America. You will shape clear, consistent and meaningful communications for employees, customers, communities, media and key partners while bringing strong business acumen, sound judgment and a continuous improvement mindset to the role.
What you will be doing
Lead BURNCO’s marketing and communications strategy, annual planning, budget and performance measures
Translate business priorities into practical campaigns, roadmaps, messaging and communications plans that support operational priorities and long-term growth
Lead and develop the Marketing & Communications team with clear priorities, accountability and a focus on continuous improvement
Serve as a trusted partner to the business
Advise leadership on brand, reputation, communications, marketing opportunities and key messaging
Oversee brand standards, approved assets, templates and resources to ensure consistent use across the business
Strengthen corporate, employee, digital,
external and community communications across the organization
Develop storytelling that highlights BURNCO’s people, projects, technical expertise, community involvement, land stewardship and long-term impact
Support media relations, sponsorship strategy, community investment, stakeholder engagement and reputation-sensitive communications
Manage agency and vendor relationships, establish clear workflows and report on results, opportunities and risks
What we would like from you
8 - 12 years of progressive marketing and communications experience, including senior-level leadership experience
Experience leading marketing in a multi-location, multi-region or complex B2B environment
Strong understanding of brand strategy, governance, corporate communications, reputation management and stakeholder engagement
Proven ability to advise senior leaders and translate business priorities into practical marketing and communications plans
Sound judgment in reputation-sensitive, community-facing, change-related or high-profile communications
Strong business acumen with an understanding of operational priorities, budgets, workforce considerations and enterprise risk
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
Ability to establish meaningful performance measures,
use insights and report on marketing and communications impact
Experience managing employees, agencies, budgets and vendors
Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations or a related field is considered an asset
Experience in construction, industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, natural resources or a family-owned organization is considered an asset
Location and other key details:
This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
Travel to various job sites across North America will be required
