Become a pivotal part of Capital Power's Western US Trading team as an Energy Trader. This full time role focuses on optimizing assets and executing trades in power and gas markets.

As a highly analytical Energy Trader, you will drive results by managing real-time and day-ahead trading strategies across WECC, CAISO, SPP, and ERCOT. Your quantitative background will facilitate creating risk management strategies and portfolio management initiatives, as you actively support structured transactions. Collaboration with various departments is essential to ensure alignment in trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize assets in WECC/CAISO for daily and forward markets
• Develop speculative trading strategies in power and gas




• Execute structured deals and provide market intelligence
• Manage relationships with brokers and customers
• Apply risk management practices to ensure compliance

Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field
• 3+ years in physical power trading across Western US
• Experience with CAISO and SPP interactions
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R
• Excellent communication skills for team collaboration
