WAHA’s Integrated Indigenous Health and Specialized Community Services is seeking a seasoned Nurse Practitioner who understands the intricacies of Indigenous health. You will be at the forefront of developing and executing wellness programs, ensuring education on preventative healthcare, and fostering relationships rooted in culturally safe practices. Your work will help bridge gaps in health access and contribute to community-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement culturally relevant health promotion initiatives
• Educate communities on chronic disease management
• Foster community partnerships for health initiatives
• Provide direct patient care during coverage periods
• Evaluate health needs and risks through comprehensive assessments
Requirements:
• Recognized certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• 3-5 years of experience in community or ambulatory settings
• Registered with CNO in Extended Class
• Certification in BCLS-HCP required; others an asset
• Proficiency in Cree language is an advantage
