Regional Lead, Healthcare Access & Stakeholder Relations Western Canada

Are you a strategic relationship-builder passionate about improving patient access to innovative medicines? We're looking for a dynamic market access professional to serve as our client's primary regional representative across Western Canada. Someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare policy, payer relations, and stakeholder engagement, and who's ready to make a real difference in the lives of patients.
JOB SUMMARY As Regional Lead, Healthcare Access & Stakeholder Relations, you'll develop and execute integrated regional access and stakeholder strategies that drive timely, sustainable patient access to medicines. Partnering closely with public and private payers, health system leaders, patient organizations, policymakers, and clinicians, you'll identify opportunities to overcome access barriers, shape healthcare policy, and position our organization as a trusted partner in the healthcare ecosystem.
This role calls for sharp strategic thinking, deep knowledge of the Canadian reimbursement landscape, and a natural ability to build collaborative, value-creating partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and lead regional reimbursement and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with national access goals
Act as the primary regional market access lead for assigned products and therapeutic areas
Build and nurture strategic relationships with public and private payers to support reimbursement and access objectives
Collaborate with national market access teams on HTA, payer engagement, pCPA, and provincial reimbursement initiatives
Monitor emerging reimbursement opportunities, risks, and policy shifts that could impact patient access or business outcomes
Cultivate relationships with key external stakeholders (provincial payers, government decision-makers, health networks, hospital and cancer agency leadership, patient advocacy groups, and professional associations)
Identify and drive collaborative initiatives that close patient journey gaps and address system inefficiencies
Represent the organization in regional forums, advisory groups, and stakeholder engagements
Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to internal leadership on policy trends and risks
Support regional public affairs and policy initiatives that expand access to innovative therapies
Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve reimbursement objectives and value demonstration efforts
REQUIREMENTS 8-10+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical market access, government affairs, health policy, reimbursement, or related healthcare leadership roles
Bachelor's degree (sciences, economics, political science, business, or public administration preferred); a post-graduate credential (MBA, MSc, PharmD, PhD) is an asset
Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian reimbursement environment and healthcare ecosystem
Proven success in external, stakeholder-facing roles bridging health system engagement, public policy, and biopharmaceuticals
Robust strategic and persuasive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences
A collaborative, entrepreneurial self-starter with a growth mindset and a talent for building trust across boundaries
