Halifax Water is a municipally owned, self-financed utility regulated by the Nova Scotia Regulatory & Appeals Board (NSRAB) and Atlantic Canada’s largest water utility, providing integrated water, wastewater, and stormwater services. For more than 80 years, we have been proud stewards of the water cycle—providing clean water to customers and safely conveying it back to the source. Through our One Team - One Water approach, our more than 650 dedicated employees provide essential water services across the Halifax Regional Municipality.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (Treatment Facilities/Process Engineering) in the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department. As a key team member in the management of the water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure at Halifax Water; providing leadership in Halifax Water by delivering services that protect public health and the workplace through the delivery of capital projects. The Project Engineer (Treatment Facilities / Process Engineering), reports to the Manager, Facilities Engineering and is responsible for the provision of professional engineering and project management services for a wide range of capital projects related to water and wastewater treatment facilities. You will mainly focus on the delivery of projects in support of Halifax Water’s long-term plans as established in the Infrastructure Master Plans from the Integrated Resource Plan.



The salary band for this position is $95,639 to $119,549.

Minimum qualifications for this position include: A post-secondary degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, process or environmental).
A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
Five years of progressively responsible related experience in an engineering field; water and wastewater treatment experience and ideally project management experience.
The successful incumbent must have a valid driver’s license.
