The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research is looking for a Biospecimen Research Technician I to support the Diagnostic Development team. This one-year temporary position requires experience in tissue processing, molecular extraction, and maintaining laboratory records. You will ensure compliance with quality control measures while collaborating with a dedicated team working towards impactful cancer research. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage sample accessioning with laboratory information systems
- Execute histological analyses on diverse tissue types
- Extract and evaluate DNA/RNA from human samples
- Maintain compliance with SOPs and laboratory accreditations
- Document findings and maintain accurate records Requirements:
- Relevant undergraduate degree required
- Proven experience in microtomy and histology
- Understanding of SOPs from FFPE and fresh frozen samples
- Attention to detail and effective communication skills
