The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research is looking for a Biospecimen Research Technician I to support the Diagnostic Development team. This one-year temporary position requires experience in tissue processing, molecular extraction, and maintaining laboratory records. You will ensure compliance with quality control measures while collaborating with a dedicated team working towards impactful cancer research.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage sample accessioning with laboratory information systems • Execute histological analyses on diverse tissue types • Extract and evaluate DNA/RNA from human samples • Maintain compliance with SOPs and laboratory accreditations • Document findings and maintain accurate records
Requirements: • Relevant undergraduate degree required • Proven experience in microtomy and histology • Understanding of SOPs from FFPE and fresh frozen samples • Attention to detail and effective communication skills • Solid organizational and time management abilities
