Position Summary:
The EDM operator is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of EDM Sink Equipment. This position will have the prospect for a Days and Afternoons rotating shift.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Understand and comply with the worker responsibilities and rights as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S;) of Ontario, as well as, the Company’s safety rules/procedures in the Orlick Employee Handbook.

Understand and comply with Orlick’s policies, procedures and standards of conduct as outlined in the Orlick Employee Handbook.

Maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record

Perform tasks in accordance with detailed instructions.

Determine the most efficient order of operations required to complete tasks within given time and dimensional requirements.

Use measuring equipment to ensure size and finish requirements are met or exceeded.

Read and interpret prints, drawings, operating instructions and procedure manuals.





Safely utilize all hand and power tools necessary to complete assigned tasks

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Assist other Tool Shop personnel as directed.

Communicate and work effectively with other members of the Company.

Skills & Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

Metal Cutting Trade Designation (Machinist, Mold, Pattern or Tool Maker license) or equivalent experience with EDM Sinkers

1 year of metal cutting trade experience

Must be able to perform CAD/CAM

CNC Machining experience is required

Experience with Esprit software an asset

Proven Blueprint reading skills.

Provide accurate results from the use of measuring equipment.

Perform troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Demonstrate strong time management and job planning skills.

Work effectively with minimal supervision.

Read, write and clearly communicate in the English language.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team building skills.
