The City of Edmonton seeks an Urban Forester to enhance the urban tree canopy and maintain forest health. This role involves managing tree preservation projects and performing comprehensive field assessments.

In the Urban Forester – Landscape Technician II role, you will act as a key consultant on tree protection and serve as an ambassador for urban forestry practices in Edmonton. Your responsibilities will include managing contractor operations and conducting risk assessments across public space. Utilizing your skills in arboriculture and planning, you will ensure compliance with local policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a technical expert in tree valuation and preservation
• Manage contracts for tree planting and maintenance




• Carry out evaluations and health assessments of trees
• Inspect sites for compliance with landscaping standards
• Educate the community on tree care and management

Requirements:
• Forestry degree or related diploma with 5 years of experience
• 2 years in Urban Forestry
• Certification as ISA Arborist
• Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
• Clean Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
