Reporting to the Hospitality Services Coordinator, the Event Services Lead Attendant is an enthusiastic, customer service driven position responsible for preparing Ancillary and Sport Services ( ANSS ) events across campus. This position must have a strong understanding of the ANSS events business including facilities layout, internal and external user groups, resources available and facility bookings. The Event Services Lead Attendant and the Event Attendant team execute event plans as directed by the Coordinator and are the onsite client contact during events in the absence of the Coordinator. This also includes proper allocation of resources and equipment needed to execute events and the movement of these resources and equipment to and from storage and other areas of the facility.

Position Responsibilities
Event Preparation & Customer Service

Prepares for and performs all operations pertaining to user group bookings and events.

Ensures set-up and take-down of all equipment as required for each user group / event.

Ensures that all technology is set-up and working properly for each user group / event and that clients are able to operate the technology properly.

Ensures that each facility being used is in top-notch condition, is clean and fully set-up for each user group to the highest standards possible.

Coordinates with Supervisor for equipment and resource inventory control, maintenance and repair.

Responsible for providing an excellent customer service experience to all internal and external user group /client.

Supports ticketing services either in the box office or scanning of tickets as required.

Makes key customer service decisions that will exceed the expectations of user groups / clients.

Responsibility for float reconciliation.

Supervision and Staff Hiring

Partners with the Supervisor on the recruitment, selection and evaluation of Event Attendants in compliance with Human Resources policies & procedures, FOIPP and collective agreements.

Provides leadership by disseminating information, providing feedback, advice and coaching to Event Attendants.

Demonstrates safe work practices in the department and ensures Event Attendant compliance.

Develops staff schedules in collaboration with the Supervisor.





Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent to about 12 years of schooling

A minimum of 6 months related experience

The ability to multi-task

Safety awareness

Experience in event / conference set up

Required Certificates:
ProServe

First Aid

Class 5 License

Food Safe

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 1-year college certificate, one year University or equivalent

Salary or Hourly? Hourly
Salary $23.15/ hour
