Your Role: At the Heart of the Chain Salary Range $81,376.00 - $101,719.50.
Key Responsibilities Hands-On Maintenance (Primary Responsibility) Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on sorters, conveyors, and associated systems
Execute corrective maintenance (CM) to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues
Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance (EM) events and breakdowns
Troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
Perform inspections, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacements
Support system startups, shutdowns, and testing after maintenance activities
Spend the majority of time on the floor performing maintenance work alongside technicians

Team Leadership & Coordination Train, coach, and support maintenance technicians
Assign and coordinate daily maintenance tasks
Ensure proper execution of PM schedules and maintenance standards
Act as the technical point of contact for technicians during shifts
Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety procedures

Maintenance Planning & Execution Plan and prioritize maintenance activities based on system needs and operational impact
Ensure PM compliance and completion
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability

Inventory & Spare Parts Management Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
Track usage and maintain appropriate inventory levels
Identify critical spare parts to reduce downtime

Procurement & Vendor Coordination Review and approve purchase orders (POs) for maintenance parts and services
Coordinate with vendors and contractors when external support is required




Ensure timely procurement of necessary materials

Continuous Improvement & Reliability Identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
Improve maintenance procedures and standards
Support reliability improvements across sorters and conveyor systems

Operations Interface & Communication Act as the primary point of contact between Operations and Maintenance
Translate operational issues into clear technical actions
Communicate downtime, risks, and maintenance activities to Operations
Align maintenance priorities with operational needs and sort schedules
Support live operations by rapidly diagnosing and resolving issues
Participate in daily operational meetings and shift handovers

Qualifications & Skills Qualifications Certificate of Qualification in one of the following Ontario trades: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) - 433A Electromechanical Technician or equivalent experience
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining automated equipment (sorters, conveyors, or similar systems)
Post-secondary education in electromechanics, industrial maintenance, or related field (asset)
Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with: Conveyor systems and automated sortation equipment
Mechanical systems (bearings, drives, belts, alignment)
Electrical systems (motors, sensors, control panels)
Basic PLC troubleshooting

Ability to: Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Diagnose and resolve issues quickly in a live environment
Perform PM, CM, and EM independently

Leadership & Work Style Proven ability to lead by example in a hands-on workplace




Strong communication skills across technical and operations teams
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Comfortable working autonomously while coordinating a team
Work Environment & Expectations Comfortable working in a high-paced automated facility
Must be available to support early-start operations and variable shifts
Strong on-floor presence with rapid response to operational issues
Role Expectations This is a hands-on role, not a purely supervisory position The Team Lead is expected to actively perform maintenance work daily Success requires balancing: Technical execution Team coordination Operational alignment Strong presence on the floor during operations is critical
