About The Role The Specialist, Communications & Marketing supports the planning, development and execution of internal and external communications, marketing initiatives, digital content and organizational projects that strengthen Bethany's brand, engage key audiences and build awareness of Bethany's services and mission of Creating Caring Communities®. Reporting to the Lead, Communications and Marketing, the Specialist develops written and visual content across a range of channels and supports social media, website content, photography, marketing campaigns, events and organizational storytelling. The position works collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to deliver timely, consistent and engaging communications aligned with Bethany's priorities, brand standards and visual identity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of writing, design, photography, social media, and project coordination, while working collaboratively with teams across the organization.
What You Will Do Essential duties, responsibilities, and performance measures
Create compelling written content for a variety of communication channels, including the website, intranet, newsletters, social media, promotional materials, annual reports, and marketing collateral.
Design print and digital communications that align with Bethany's visual identity and brand standards.
Plan, create, schedule and monitor social media content across Bethany's digital platforms, including engaging with audiences and supporting community management.
Capture and edit photography to support marketing campaigns, events, and organizational storytelling.
Assist with website updates and digital communications using content management systems such as WordPress and SharePoint.
Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, organizational initiatives, and promotional materials.
Monitor traditional and digital media coverage and provide support for media relations activities as required.
Provide communications and logistical support for corporate, Foundation and site events, including photography and event materials.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify communications opportunities and develop engaging content that supports organizational priorities.
Assist in the development of employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives.
Support internal employee engagement campaigns and organizational storytelling
Help maintain consistency across Bethany's brand, messaging, and visual identity.
Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
Track and report on communication and social media performance using analytics and insights.
Identify opportunities to improve communication processes and recommend creative solutions.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Three to five years of progressive communications or marketing experience.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Intermediate graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
Experience creating content for social media and digital communications.
Photography experience and an eye for visual storytelling.
Experience managing website content using WordPress, SharePoint, or similar content management systems.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
Experience in healthcare or the non-profit sector is considered an asset.
