Position Purpose The Clinical Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of healthcare services to students. This position is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, which includes managing a team of nurses and medical office assistants. The Clinical Manager ensures that high standards of patient care are maintained, clinical protocols are followed, and that the healthcare needs of the student population are met in a timely and compassionate manner. This role involves both administrative and clinical oversight to ensure a student-centric experience and adherence to regulated standards of care.




Clinical Operations Management Oversees the daily clinical operations of medical services within the Centre and ensures that standards of care are maintained according to regulations. This includes scheduling and workload distribution among clinical staff, oversight of the electronic medical record system (CHR), inventory and purchasing of medical supplies, and ensures that medical equipment is in working order and maintained according to established protocols. Oversees the planning and delivery of immunization and school placement clinics in collaboration with faculties and other stakeholders. Identifies areas for improvement, makes recommendations for change, and implements and ensures adherence to practices and procedures. Ensures that confidentiality of health information is maintained in accordance with legislations governing access to information and privacy. Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety, monitors student feedback and trends, implements changes to improve the student experience and optimize resources. This includes making recommendations related to hours of operations, services to be provided, clinical experts required to meet student needs, service delivery methods, partnerships, and opportunities to generate revenues and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the Centre.




Human Resource Management Leads the team of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Medical Office Assistants, and other clinical staff such as student placements, dietitians, occupational therapists etc. Promotes a positive work environment and encourages teamwork and collaboration. Recruits, onboards, trains, and assesses performance of the team. Provides opportunities for personal and professional development. Manages performance and implements performance improvement plans up to and including making recommendations for dismissal.
Patient care management Ensures the delivery of high quality, student-centered care across all medical services including coordination of patient care activities, treatment plans and follow-up care. Responds to complaints and escalates issues to the Senior Manager, Student Health and Wellness Centre as needed. Supervises and monitors processes to ensure proper follow-up on tests and referrals. Maintains accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation and ensures the same in all clinical staff. Performs daily nursing tasks and procedures when required to support nurses and physicians.
