Become a Lead Park Ranger for the Government of Alberta in Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Park. This full-time role centers on visitor interactions, compliance, and safety throughout the winter season.
This position is crucial within the Forestry and Parks ministry, operating from November 2026 to March 2027. You will oversee park compliance activities, assist with wildlife issues, and engage in positive interactions with visitors. Diverse shifts, including evenings and weekends, will enhance your administrative and public safety skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the Park Ranger Program effectively
• Promote compliance with park rules among visitors
• Conduct safety checks and campground compliance activities
• Deliver key safety messages while roaming the park
• Complete required records and incident reports
Requirements:
• High school diploma with one year of related experience
• Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification
• Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with less than 6 demerits
• Criminal Record Check needed prior to start
• Familiarity with relevant Provincial and Federal Acts
