Transform the lives of children in Grande Prairie as a Temporary Child and Youth Support Worker. Your role will focus on nurturing trust and providing steady support during challenging times.
In this temporary casual position, you’ll work hands-on with youth facing behavioral and emotional hurdles, using playfulness and firm boundaries to create a safe environment. Your responsibilities also include documenting observations and working with supervisors to develop effective care plans based on individual needs. Every interaction aims to engage, teach, and uplift those in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate trust through engaging and playful interactions
• Support children in crisis situations using strategies
• Document observations to track progress and concerns
• Partner with supervisors for tailored therapeutic support
• Initiate meaningful activities, from games to skill development
Requirements:
• Experience or interest in trauma-informed practices
• Background in youth care or social work is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
• Current First Aid with CPR Level C certification
• Recent criminal and intervention checks must be clear
