Administration Responsible for the daily functioning of the program following Center goals, Policies and Procedures, Health and Safety Standards and Licensing requirements.
Follow direction provided by the Manager.
Maintain the health & safety of children, environment, equipment and supervision.
Support the work and direction of McGregor as directed by the Board and Management.
Ensure and arrange proper licensing staff ratios are met and staff scheduling supports this and other planned events.
Keep children’s files and information up-to-date, accurate and in order.
Secure supplies, food and equipment as necessary for the center within established budget.
Coordinate practicum and volunteer placements.
Interact with stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre, children, families and staff.
Work with reasonable autonomy and independence in arranging materials and ideas for the children, under the direction of the Program Manager.
Complete all required daily shift duties with efficiency.
Arrange for shift coverage when unable to work a scheduled shift.
Preform other duties as directed.
Supervision of Employees and Teamwork Responsible to the Manager for the good performance and relations of the program staff, assistants, practicum students, volunteers, substitutes and students in the program.
Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained
Responsible for the scheduling of staff and substitutes and maintain required daily staff/child ratio.
Liaison with Special Needs Worker, Supervisors, Manager and other stakeholders regarding activities involving the program and the center as a whole.
Support families by establishing positive relationships and partnerships that support their child’s growth.
Work with staff on the implementation and maintenance of child development plans.
Develop,
direct and supervise the daily program and activities for the children both in an integrated group and one/one setting.
Work positively in a team, motivating, coaching and delegating work tasks to the staff team.
Establish and maintain respectful, positive, collaborative, supportive working relationships with all co-workers.
Conduct performance reviews.
Program Development Use current practices to inform programming and activities that support all children’s developmental growth.
Organize and coordinate outings that further the goals and philosophies of learning for the children within established budgets.
Arrange the physical set up of the centre and maintain a stimulating, neat, orderly, safe and clean environment.
All interactions must align with the ECEBC Code of Ethics.
Child Growth & Development Interact directly with the children, providing and creating positive attachments.
Understand each child’s unique personality and respond and replicate a caring and compassionate relationship with collaborative dialogue and actions.
Notice, record and collect children’s interactions with their surroundings, materials activities, discoveries and growth.
Create, share and display pedagogical narration.
Work respectfully in partnerships with families, supporting them in supporting their child.
Provide each child with opportunities and supports to navigate all developmental domains with a focus on self-help skills, language and communication and development in the areas of physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.
Establish clear boundaries,
consistent and simple expectations and limits with children.
Shows motivation when working with children and in their growth and success.
Enjoys communicating and interacting with children
Post Basic ECE Early Childhood Educator and Infant & Toddler Certificate to Practice.
At least 2 years experience working with infant & toddlers in a non-profit child care setting.
Experience in a Supervisory role.
Strong understanding of child care licencing requirements.
Current First Aid certificate
Consent to Criminal Record Check
Ability to multi-task and reassess priorities throughout the day.
Statement from medical practitioner indicating valuable physical and psychological ability to work with children.
Ability to clearly accurately communicate verbally and in writing.
Solid working ability with technology and applications.
Proof of immunization and tuberculosis vaccinations
Positive team player; adaptable, punctual, reliable with good communication skills
Strong ability to motivate and lead a team.
Early Childhood Educator and Infant & Toddler Certificate to Practice.
At least 2 years experience working with infant & toddlers in a non-profit child care setting.
Experience in a Supervisory role.
