Peninsula Food Technologies Location: 1 Northrup Crescent, St. Catharines, Ont.

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly and safely.

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, preventative maintenance, and lubrication of production and facility equipment. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, extending equipment life, and ensuring a safe, sanitary, and efficient production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform equipment repairs and troubleshooting on production machinery, conveyors, packaging equipment, and facility systems

Complete scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) tasks according to established maintenance plans and schedules

Perform routine and scheduled lubrication of equipment components (bearings, chains, gearboxes, etc.) per lubrication schedules

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic issues and determine root cause

Document all work performed, including repairs, PM completions, and parts used, in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production line stoppages to minimize downtimeIdentify and report potential equipment issues before they result in failure

Maintain an organized and stocked supply of spare parts, lubricants, and maintenance materials

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements when working in and around production areas





Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures

Collaborate with production staff, supervisors, and other maintenance team members to prioritize and schedule work

Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed

Qualifications
Required:

Previous experience in an industrial or food/beverage manufacturing maintenance role

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and lubrication systems

Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures

Basic computer skills for CMMS data entry and record-keeping

Ability to work safely around moving equipment, following LOTO and other safety protocols

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and climbing as needed

Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle are essential to the role

Willingness to work in cold, wet, and/or refrigerated environments typical of food processing facilities

Preferred:

Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Electrician certification/license

Experience with a CMMS platform for tracking work orders and PMs

Experience with food-grade lubricants and sanitary equipment design

Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, or basic industrial controls

Work Schedule
Day Shift Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Must be willing to work overtime as required.
