**Job Title: Mechanical Technician**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting machinery on a fast-paced medical device production floor within a highly regulated, clean, and protocol-driven environment.
You will play a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, product quality, and adherence to strict procedures and documentation standards.
**Responsibilities**
Troubleshoot mechanical issues on production machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including injection molding machines and related production equipment.
Calibrate machinery and tools in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Follow SOP and GMP guidelines rigorously to ensure compliance within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
Document all maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities accurately and thoroughly in line with quality and regulatory standards.
Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment issues in a fast-paced environment with multiple assemblers per department.
Collaborate closely with senior technicians and other team members to share knowledge and maintain a strong culture of teamwork.
Participate in QMS training and apply quality system protocols to daily work activities.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in all work areas, particularly within the clean room environment.
Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and dress code requirements, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Electro-Mechanical Technician.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of production machinery.
Diploma in electro-mechanical technician, mechanical technician, or maintenance technician.
Experience working in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, aerospace, or food manufacturing.
Solid understanding of SOP and GMP guidelines and the ability to work effectively in a procedure-driven environment.
Strong documentation skills with the ability to record maintenance and quality-related activities clearly and accurately.
Experience working with injection molding equipment or similar production machinery.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous exposure to medical equipment or medical device manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and protocol-driven workflows.
Ability to adapt quickly to new equipment, technologies, and procedures through on-the-job training.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sterility in a clean room environment.
Willingness to work overtime when required.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a clean, well-lit, and fast-paced production facility with roughly 40 assemblers working in each department and a strong emphasis on teamwork and protocol adherence.
The environment is highly regulated and very protocol-driven, requiring strict compliance with SOP, GMP, and quality management system procedures.
Recent hires train with a senior technician and complete QMS and protocol training via an iPad during the first week.
The position follows a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
When entering the clean room, business casual attire is required, and gym clothing is not permitted.
Hair nets, latex gloves, masks, and lab coats are provided and must be worn at all times; beard nets are required for facial hair.
Personal clothing may be worn under the lab coat, but denim is not allowed.
In the warehouse, steel-toe footwear is required, while closed-toe shoes are mandatory in the production area.
No makeup, nail polish, fake nails or eyelashes, or jewellery of any kind is permitted in the clean room to maintain sterility.
The facility maintains high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout all areas.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mississauga,ON.
