Support victims of crime with the City of Richmond as a Crisis Worker in partnership with the RCMP. You will provide crucial crisis intervention and emotional support in a rewarding role.
This position requires responding to crime scenes and offering in-person and telephone support to victims of various traumatic incidents. As a Crisis Worker, you will assess safety, manage caseloads, and assist with Victim Impact Statements. You will work independently while providing accurate information about the criminal justice system and community resources tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to crime scenes as needed by RCMP
• Offer emotional support to victims of crime
• Assess individual safety and develop safety plans
• Assist with Victim Impact Statements
• Maintain accurate case notes and reports
Requirements:
• 1 year post-secondary coursework in related fields
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License in BC
• Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance
• Ability to handle stressful situations
