Compensation Range $8,810.92 - $13,202.50 CAD Monthly The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. Job Summary The Associate Director, CPD leads specific initiatives that advance UBC CPD's mandate in support of the Director, CPD, Associate Dean, CPD, and portfolio leads, including the strategic management of accreditation and program standards across the division.
Key priorities for the role include advancing partnership engagement, business development, national and international strategic initiatives, accreditation and program standards,



and leading assigned initiatives and projects that advance UBC CPD's mandate. The Associate Director, CPD is a member of the UBC CPD leadership team, participating in the development of long-term strategic planning and leading identified partnership engagement activities to enhance quality, reach, and sustainability of CPD programming.
The Associate Director also plays a key role in building cross-functional alignment across UBC CPD's diverse portfolios, ensuring consistent standards, shared practices, and collaborative planning to realize cross-functional strategic opportunities. The position strengthens leadership capacity by supervising assigned staff and by providing cross-portfolio mentorship and indirect leadership to a large team of staff and clinical leads operating across multiple functional areas.
Organizational Status UBC Continuing Career development (UBC CPD) is a large, complex academic unit, situated within the Office of the Vice Dean Education of the Faculty of Medicine. UBC CPD advances the field of continuing professional development (CPD) through the design, delivery, accreditation, evaluation and research of lifelong learning opportunities for health professionals in British Columbia and beyond. UBC CPD is a strategic partner to numerous provincial and national health organizations and has local, national and international reach, with a growing, engaged community of over 150,000 learners.




The Associate Director, CPD is responsible for multiple strategic initiatives and for providing oversight and guidance for assigned CPD programs. The role strengthens leadership capacity across the unit and supports cross-portfolio integration, supporting the Director, CPD in leading a large and expanding staff through organizational growth and increasing program complexity.
The Associate Director, CPD reports to the Director, CPD and works closely with the Associate Dean, CPD and Senior Managers within the UBC CPD team.
Work Performed Strategic Leadership and Planning Supports development, implementation and monitoring of the UBC CPD strategic plan, identifying emerging institutional opportunities, risks, and directions in line with UBC CPD and Faculty of Medicine priorities
Leads development, execution, and oversight of assigned strategic initiatives that advance long term goals for UBC CPD and the broader Faculty of Medicine
Advises on strategic initiatives related to national and international engagement, new market exploration, and program innovation, ensuring alignment with Faculty and University priorities.
Conducts comprehensive environmental scans, competitive analyses, and needs assessments to inform strategic recommendations and future planning.
Identifies and defines strategic priority areas of significant complexity within assigned portfolios, integrating multi-stakeholder perspectives and system-level considerations.
Proactively anticipates emerging issues, risks, and opportunities; advises on strengthening CPD's strategic positioning and operational resilience.
