Alumni come for support, updating their contact information, getting information on services, benefits, and events, inquiring about on-going educational opportunities, providing updates on their accomplishments, and volunteering their time and talent back to SFU to help with recruitment and/or students in need of mentors.
About the Role
The Coordinator, Alumni Relations provides oversight and support for SFU Alumni Relations’ regional events and engagement efforts. The role provides essential, integrated support to ensure the smooth operation of the Alumni Relations Office’s administrative, financial, and engagement functions. The role is responsible for overseeing the alumni Helpdesk as well as the stewardship and engagement of SFU Alumni’s partnerships with affinity, discount, and community partners who provide valuable benefits and services to alumni.
They are also responsible for the financial administration of alumni events and sponsorships, including revenue and budget tracking, vendor payments, invoicing, plus data management. The Coordinator supports the development and implementation of initiatives that advance Advancement and Alumni Engagement’s strategic priorities and serves as a front-line representative for Alumni Relations. The team works in a hybrid model where 50% or more is spent in-person in the Burnaby campus.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Arts, Business Administration or Communications and two years of related experience in areas such as working with Indigenous and multicultural groups, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical reasoning, problem solving, and organizational skills,
with accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent budget management and financial administration skills with the ability to generate revenue.
Ability to develop relationships and partnerships and to work collaboratively at all levels and areas within the organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with information and records systems and access improvements when needed.
