The Canucks Autism Network seeks a passionate Swim Instructor in Victoria. Play a pivotal role in developing swim skills for Autistic children and creating a safe, engaging learning workplace.
As a Swim Instructor, you'll have the chance to implement tailored teaching strategies that maximize participant success and enjoyment. Candidates should have coaching experience in recreational settings and be capable of fostering a positive community atmosphere. You'll collaborate with fellow staff to ensure successful program delivery and mentorship for Support Workers and Volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver tailored swim lessons based on participant needs
• Utilize autism-informed coaching methods for effective engagement
• Foster a supportive atmosphere for all participants
• Complete skill assessments and maintain participant records
• Coordinate with support staff for smooth program operations
Requirements:
• 1 year of coaching experience with youth in recreational settings
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications required
• Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification necessary
• Comfortable with effective pool depth management
• Age 16 or older with a clean criminal record check
